I'll stamp all over 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really happening.
